Studio Policies

Attendance

Since consistency is key when learning an instrument, it is highly recommended to attend every lesson that is scheduled. As soon as we figure out the best day and time for your lesson, that is going to be your reserved time every week, with some rare exceptions. As you start to schedule  your lesson time, make sure to factor in the time it takes to drive to and from the lesson, as well  as any conflicting after-school activities.

Lesson Etiquitte

Christopher prefers that students arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes before their lesson time: cellists need a little more time to get unpacked, and prepare for the lesson. That way, we can start right away, and make the most out of our time together.

practice and preparation

As this is a Suzuki program, it may require more commitment than you are used to compared to traditional studios, or after-school lesson programs.

Christopher recommends that my students practice every day (you can take a day off for Holidays, and  birthdays!), as well as listen to recordings of their current working piece.

For beginners, Christopher makes sure to guide them every step of the way when learning a new piece, but as students progress, they will take on more responsibility to learn the basics at home: playing the correct notes, rhythms, and bowings, as well as adding in dynamics, and different bow strokes.

fees and payments

Lesson rates are as follows: $50.00 for a 30-minute lesson, $75.00 for a 45-minute lesson, and $100.00 for a 60-minute lesson.

Because Christopher also performs with various ensembles in the area, he schedules lessons on a monthly basis, and payments are due before the first lesson of the month. There will be a $50.00 Studio Fee at the start of every Semester to cover recitals, and administrative fees.

To submit a payment, you can use PayPal (@cfiore19) or Venmo (@cfiore), as well as a check or cash, if that is easier.
