
About Christopher

​Christopher Fiore has been playing the cello for over 35 years, and has had the opportunity to study extensively with members of the Cleveland Orchestra during his time at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Chicago Symphony, while he was completing his graduate, and post-graduate studies at the DePaul School of Music.

Christopher has over 20 years of teaching experience, and has worked with students of all ages, and abilities, and has been invited to teach at various Workshops and Institutes across the world. He has taken teacher-training from some of the most recognized pedagogues in the country.

Christopher also has extensive experience with cello ensembles, having been the Cello Director at the Merit School of Music in Chicago, Illinois, where he led an advanced cello ensemble, as well as the Cello Director at the Oak Park String Academy, where he and his students collaborated with the Western Springs School of Talent Education for their annual Ensemble Concert at the Symphony Center in downtown Chicago. Christopher also ran his own private studio and cello ensemble at the DaCore Talent Education school in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Now, he has founded and leads the Satori Cello Ensemble, for young cellos seeking further musical development.
In his own words:
"Teaching for me is what the Japanese refer to as “Ikigai”, or “a reason for being”. I believe in the benefits of learning an instrument, and the way being a musician can create lasting positive influences on our lives. Satori is Japanese for “comprehension, understanding”, and, alongside the Suzuki pedagogy, is an integral part of my teaching philosophy of being a source to help my students create a universal comprehension of music, and a complete understanding of their instrument."
